Privacy Policy
Cooking Assistant · Last updated: April 24, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes what data the Cooking Assistant
mobile application ("the app", "we", "us") collects, how it is used, and the
choices you have. By using the app you accept the practices described below.
This policy applies to the Android and iOS apps published under the package
identifier com.cookingassistant.app.
1. What we DO collect
- Recipes you generate or save — stored on your device
and, optionally, in our public Explore feed for the community to discover.
You can delete them from the Saved screen at any time.
- An anonymous device identifier — used for analytics
and to enforce free-tier quotas. Not linked to your real identity.
- Basic usage metrics — which screens you visit, how
long actions take, and error reports. Used to fix bugs and improve the
product. Aggregated, not personally identifying.
- Subscription status — whether you have an active
Premium subscription, retrieved from RevenueCat / Google Play / Apple.
We do not store payment details.
- Email address — only if you choose to sign in with
Google. Used to identify your account across devices.
2. What we DO NOT collect
- Your real name (unless you sign in with Google)
- Your phone number, postal address, or precise location
- Health data, allergy profile, dietary profile, or body measurements
- Photos, videos, or audio recordings
- Contacts, calendar, or any other on-device personal data
3. Permissions explained
- Camera — used only when you tap the barcode
scanner inside the Customize Recipe modal, to read product barcodes for
ingredient lookup. The camera feed is processed on your device and never
uploaded.
- Microphone — currently unused at runtime. The
permission is declared so a future "voice-to-recipe" feature can be
enabled without a new install. We will update this policy before the
microphone is ever activated.
- Internet — required to fetch recipes from public
URLs you submit and to call our AI service.
4. AI-generated content
Recipes, ingredients, cook times, nutritional values and allergen labels
are generated by an artificial-intelligence (AI) model and may be incorrect,
incomplete, outdated or unsafe. The app provides this information for
general informational and entertainment purposes only — it is not
professional culinary, nutritional, medical, dietary or food-safety advice.
You are solely responsible for reviewing every recipe before purchasing
ingredients, cooking, eating or serving food to others.
5. Third-party services
- Google Gemini (Google LLC) — processes the URLs you
submit and your customization choices to generate recipes. URLs and
customization payloads are sent to Google's API; raw recipe text is
returned to the app. No personally identifying user data is forwarded.
- RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc.) — manages subscription
entitlements. Receives an anonymous user identifier and your subscription
transaction info from Google Play / Apple.
- Google Play / Apple App Store — handle billing for
Premium subscriptions. We never see your card details.
- Cloudflare — hosts our backend Worker and may log
request IP addresses for rate-limiting and abuse prevention. Logs are
retained for up to 30 days.
6. Data retention
Recipes you save remain in our database until you delete them or close
your account. Anonymous analytics events are retained for up to 13 months.
Cloudflare request logs are retained for up to 30 days.
7. Data sharing
We do not sell, rent or trade your data. We share it only with the
third-party processors listed in §5, strictly as needed to operate the
service. We may disclose information if compelled by valid legal process.
8. Children
The app is not directed at children under 13 (or 16 in the EU). We do
not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child
has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Your rights (GDPR / CCPA / LGPD)
You may request a copy of the data we hold about you, request correction
or deletion, or withdraw consent, by emailing us at the address below. We
respond within 30 days.
10. DMCA & takedown requests
If you are a content creator and want a recipe derived from your work
removed, send an email to
cooking.assitant.gaby@gmail.com
with the subject "DMCA Takedown" and specify: (1) the
channel/account to block (website, Instagram account, YouTube channel,
etc.), (2) the link to the original content, (3) your name and role
(creator, legal representative, etc.). Within 48 hours we will remove all
recipes referencing that source and create a rule to block any future user
submissions pointing to the same channel.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at
the top reflects the latest change. Material changes will be communicated
inside the app.
